Jesus is the most powerful, glorious and excellent name. The name Jesus has been exalted above every other name. In his name demons flee, miracles happen. The sick are healed and salvation is found. But why do these things occur at the mention of his name? Because God has exalted the name of Jesus above every other name, there is power in his name. “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-10. According to scriptures Jesus is the totality of divinity. “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” Colossians 2:9-10 He is the true image of the invisible God. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” Col 1:15. He is the son of God and co-equal with him. “I and the Father are one.” John 10:30.
Jesus has dominion over all things. “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:21-23. Jesus is all powerful. Nothing is beyond his power, and in his name, no feat is unachievable. He triumphed over all principalities and powers and he is seated at the right hand of God. “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15
Jesus is the head of the Church. “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the pre-eminence.” Col 1:18. Jesus is our high priest that lived a sinless human life. “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.” Hebrews 4:14 “He was there in the beginning with God before the world and He is the Word that was made flesh that dwelt among us.” John 1:1-5,14, John 17:5 Col 1:16-18. Jesus is our healer “Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by his strips we are healed” Isaiah 53:4-5. Jesus is the saviour of the world. “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke19:10.
